Peer to Pal with Grouper

Looks like the next logical wave of file sharing apps will not centre around IP masking super swarms or headless hash processing superlinking wacknology.
The future of your file sharing existence will lie is your trusted friends and geeky co-workers (score). Programs like Qnext and now Grouper, allow for users to share their video, audio, pictures and web content to the selected, trusted community of their buddy list rather than the world at large. As long as you're confident your pals aren't going to rat you out, this makes for an extremely fast and efficient method of transport. No worries of virus laden mp3s or 40 hour movie downloads that turn out to be mislabeled or corrupt. If it comes from your movie loving pal, the likelihood is s/he only kept that copy because of it's quality. Sure it's a slippery slope, that may lead to Friendster-esque viral trading of films and audio, but in a sense it's less diabolical knowing that the intent is to share the file with a few friends, not to distribute screeners to the globe.... isn't it?
