Jaysay: After some of the most technical violin work I have EVER seen or heard last Sat, it can't hurt to endulge in a little musical powdered doughnut. Like audio Simpsons after watching PBS.

Boards of Canada - Campfire Headphase
For certain twentysomethings, BOC represented a soothing stroll into nostalgia. Arriving at a time when technology was beginning to encroach on daily life, they offered something simultaneously modern, hip and warmly retro.
Fast forward to 2005 and detractors might point out a lack of musical progression while the world around them has caught up.
Like its predecessors, The Campfire Headphase is rooted in the present, whilst still looking to the past. Warbling guitars are the only new addition here, influenced by BOC's relationship with UK artist Bibio. And whilst their practice of degrading audio to Dictaphone degree appears more extreme this time around, the familiar BOC 'memory wash' remains constant.
This album moves like a daydreamed walk through your old junior school, and while it fails to surprise it doesn't disappoint. Have a listen

Article-BBC Album review
I have no clue who they are but I quite enjoy their stuff. It's a testimant to the following the Arctic Monkeys have gained that only 2000 people actually own a legally produced song of their's yet they're selling out gigs across the UK in record time. And here lies the key to the Monkeys unbelievable fanbase - relation - they are one of us.
Yes there are other bands out there doing the same, but they aint talking about fit
birds dancing to electro pop like a robot from 1984. These aren't the prententious skinny tie wearing plonkers who feel it's there duty do be seen at fashion shows to get record deals.
The Arctic Monkeys are REAL.
Re-edit: Arctic Monkeys recently performed on the BBC, your better MP3 repositiories may have a copy, or ask your local Jtronforce member.

A quoi ça sert l’amour?
A quoi ça sert l'amour? is a charming animation by French production house Cube about the trials and tribulations of love set to the tune of a wonderful duet between Edith Piaf and Theo Sarapo. This short is but one of several (mostly commercial) animations on the site…

Apple Unveils IPod Capable of Playing Videos, Deal With ABC to Sell Episodes of TV Shows
SAN JOSE, Calif. Oct 12, 2005 — Apple Computer Inc. introduced an iPod capable of playing videos on Wednesday, evolving the portable music player of choice into a multimedia platform for everything from TV shows to music videos.
Videos will now be sold online alongside songs on Apple's iTunes store.
Citing a groundbreaking deal with ABC Television Group, Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said video offerings via iTunes will include episodes for $1.99 each of the hit shows "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost," which will be available the day after they air on television.
Jaysay: Damn. I'm in, unless the screen is ugly. oh wait $300 USD? I'll just buy Pat's when he finally hacks it to play video and sound then promptly gets bored with it.

Meebo Web Based Multi-Messenger
Meebo - Freeware Multi-Platform IM Client
Meebo is a browser-based IM client that connects to AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber, and Google Talk IM networks. If your employer has locked out all connections excluding those on port 80 (default web traffic port) you can use Meebo to get online when the normal IM applications won't work. This type of blocking is usually accomplished using a firewall, but Meebo allows you to get around it.
Meebo is still in alpha, so it's a very early version that is basically still being tested. It may not be the smoothest solution out there, but if you're looking to IM and can't use the usual routes on your computer Meebo will get the job done.
